Healing, Transformation,
and Belonging
Welcome to De Oruga a Mariposa Therapy, a safe space to heal, grow, and reconnect with yourself. My name is Yoana Urbina, LMFT (she/her/ella), a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Los Angeles.
I founded this practice to support individuals who are navigating the complexities of identity, intergenerational trauma, and life transitions. Whether you are a first-generation individual, a child of immigrants, or someone longing for emotional healing, this is a space created for you.
Here, your story, your pain, and your becoming are all welcome.

“Your time as a caterpillar has ended.
Your wings are ready..”

Your Story,
Culture, and Healing
At De Oruga a Mariposa Therapy, healing is viewed as a journey — one that requires safety, compassion, and culturally grounded support. My approach is warm, relational, and trauma-informed, integrating evidence-based practices such as EMDR therapy, somatic work, and culturally responsive counseling.
I offer therapy services in both English and Spanish to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
-
A safe space to process your story, release what no longer serves you, and reconnect with your authentic self. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, grief, or identity struggles, therapy provides a grounding space to heal and grow.
-
Trauma can leave lasting imprints on the mind and body. Through EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and somatic therapy practices, we work together to process trauma and help the body return to safety and balance.
-
As a daughter of immigrants, I understand the complexities of growing up between cultures — the resilience it builds and the struggles it can carry. Therapy here honors your bicultural identity, the weight of expectations, and the beauty of reclaiming your story.
-
Change can be overwhelming — whether it’s starting a new chapter, navigating relationships, or redefining your identity. Together, we’ll explore your story with compassion, clarity, and curiosity.
